How to improve the accuracy of an AI transcript

An automatic transcript can come out nearly perfect or full of mistakes with the same tool. The difference is usually the audio and the way people speak, not the button. These habits reduce errors before and after you transcribe.

Audio comes first

The tool can only transcribe what it hears. Clear audio, with voices close to the microphone and no background noise, improves the result a lot. A room without echo, a microphone near the speaker or a headset with a mic makes the difference.

One speaker at a time

When two people talk at once, no tool tells the voices apart well. Ask people to take turns and to repeat the important part if someone interrupts. Speaking at a normal pace, without running sentences together, helps too.

Names, figures and technical terms

These are the hardest part: proper names, brands, acronyms and numbers can come out wrong. Say important names and figures clearly and repeat them if needed. Mixing languages within one sentence also makes the result worse.

The file format

For speech, a compressed format such as m4a or mp3 is enough. Avoid re-recording the audio several times or compressing it too much: every conversion loses quality. If you can, use the original recording.

The final check

Spend five minutes checking names, figures, dates and technical terms, which matter most. In SwiftBOL you can jump to each point through the timestamps and compare it with the audio.

No automatic transcript is perfect, but with clear audio and a quick check it gets very close. The Free plan includes 2 hours of audio a month, no card, to try it on your usual audio.

Try it with your own audio

SwiftBOL turns your meetings and calls into minutes with decisions and action items in minutes. The Free plan includes 120 minutes of audio a month, no credit card required.
